No início de cada ano, mantenho o ritual de mostrar os melhores momentos do ano que ficou para trás. Escrever o que sinto é quase tão difícil como escolher as melhores fotografias que ilustram o ano que passou. Há sempre algo que fica por dizer ou por mostrar. Se 2013 foi um ano de mudança, 2014 deixou-me sem palavras. Foi um ano simplesmente incrível! Conheci pessoas fantásticas, casais que me receberam de braços abertos como se eu fosse um membro das suas famílias e viajei por zonas maravilhosas do nosso país e que deixaram imensa vontade de lá voltar. Até tive a oportunidade de viajar até aos Alpes Franceses para fotografar um casamento que deixará para sempre uma marca no meu coração.

Nada disto seria possível sem os fantásticos casais que confiaram em mim e que me deixaram fazer parte de um dos dias mais importantes das suas vidas. Sem eles, jamais poderia fazer o que amo. Muito obrigado pelo vosso carinho e amizade. E não posso deixar de agradecer também aos colegas com quem tive a oportunidade de trabalhar em 2014. É muito gratificante trabalhar ao lado de pessoas cujo trabalho, dedicação e paixão muito admiro. E é claro que tenho de agradecer à Célia e à minha família por toda a paciência que tiveram comigo e pelo apoio incansável que me deram.

Mal posso esperar pelo que 2015 me reserva! A agenda já se começa a compor a um bom ritmo e mal posso esperar para começar a fotografar os casamentos que já estão agendados. Vai ser um ano épico!

No fim do post, aproveitem também para espreitar os melhores momentos de 2014 de alguns amigos (fotógrafos e videógrafos) cujo trabalho acompanho e respeito bastante.

As usual, at the beginning of each year, I show the best moments of the previous year. To write what I feel is almost as difficult as choosing the best photographs that show what happened in the past year. There’s always something missing to say or show. If 2013 was a year of many changes, 2014 left me speechless. It was a year simply amazing! I met fantastic people, couples who received me with open arms as if I was a member of their families and traveled to beautiful areas of our country that made me want to go there again. I even had the opportunity to travel to the French Alps to photograph a wedding that will forever leave a mark in my heart.

None of this would be possible without the fantastic couples who trusted me and let me be part of one of the most important days of their lives. Without them, I could never do what I love. Thank you for your affection and friendship. And I must also thank the colleagues with whom I had the opportunity to work in 2014. It was very rewarding to work alongside photographers whose work, dedication and passion I greatly admire. And of course, I have to thank my beautiful wife Célia and my family for all their patience and the unconditional support they gave me.

Can’t wait for what 2015 will bring! My agenda is already beginning to fill at a good pace and can’t wait to start shooting the weddings that are already scheduled. It will be an epic year!

]]> É incrível como já se passou mais um ano! 2014 está no início, mas já dá para perceber que será um ano com muito trabalho e novas aventuras e ainda bem que assim é. Mal posso esperar! Mas se já há algumas novidades em relação ao novo ano, o que dizer sobre o ano de 2013? Foi sem dúvida o ano em que mais fotografei e viajei pelo país. Conheci pessoas fantásticas que confiaram no meu trabalho, que me receberam de braços abertos e que me deixaram documentar um dos dias mais importantes das suas vidas. Sinto-me grato pela sua amizade e abençoado por ter tido a oportunidade de fazer o que mais amo ao lado de pessoas tão especiais!

Em 2014 quero fazer ainda mais e melhor. Quero ser um contador de histórias por excelência, quero fotografar como nunca fotografei, crescer enquanto profissional, porque ser fotógrafo de casamentos implica muita dedicação e uma aprendizagem constante, conhecer casais especiais que se identificam com o meu trabalho, viajar por novas zonas do nosso país e quem sabe, até fotografar lá fora. Nunca se sabe!

E tal como no ano passado, faço uma retrospetiva de todo o trabalho feito e deixo aqui alguns os melhores momentos de 2013. Digo alguns pois muitas imagens tiveram de ficar de fora, mas fica a promessa de mostrar mais fotografias e de contar mais novidades ao longo dos próximos meses. Revejo estas fotografias com muitas saudades e confesso que as seleccionei sempre com um sorriso nos lábios. Por vezes, com uma lágrima ou outra.

Não deixem também de ver o fantástico trabalho de alguns amigos (fotógrafos e videógrafos) cujo trabalho acompanho e respeito bastante. It’s incredible how another year just passed so fast! 2014 is just starting, and I can already see that it will be a year of hard work, new adventures and I’m so happy and grateful for that. Can’t wait! But if there’s already some news about this new year, what about 2013? I never photographed so much in my life and I lost the count of the kilometres while traveling the country. I met fantastic people who trusted my work, who received me with open arms and let me be part of one of the most important days of their lives. I’m very grateful for their friendship and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to do what I love with such amazing people!

In 2014 I want to do more and to do better. I want to be a storyteller at heart, I want to photograph like I never did before, to grow as a professional, to meet special couples who love my work, to travel and discover new areas of Portugal and maybe even shoot in another country. You never know!

And like last year, its time to do a retrospective of all the work done and I leave here some of the best moments of 2013. I say some because many images had to be left out, but I promise to show more photos and tell more news over the coming months. These photos bring so many good memories and I confess that I’ve select them with a smile on my face. Sometimes a tear.

O casamento da Elisabete e do Rodrigo no passado sábado, foi muito especial e memorável e fico muito feliz por ter feito parte de um dos dias mais importantes das suas vidas. Foi o culminar de um grande ano que me deu a conhecer imensas pessoas que confiaram em mim e no meu trabalho e que deixaram uma marca enorme no meu coração. Muito obrigado! Conheci também locais lindíssimos do nosso país que seriam difíceis de conhecer de outra forma. Agora, é tempo de editar e entregar as milhares de fotografias que foram tiradas ao longo dos últimos meses, de trabalhar em alguns projetos pessoais e de começar a pensar já no próximo ano que se avizinha e que será ainda mais intenso. Mal posso esperar!

The end of the so called “weddings season” couldn’t have ended in a better way. The wedding of Elisabete and Rodrigo last Saturday, was very special and memorable and I’m very happy to have been part of one of the most important days of their lives. It was the end of a great year that gave me the opportunity to meet many people who trusted me and in my work and left a huge mark on my heart. Thank you! I also visit beautiful places in my country that would be difficult to visit otherwise. Now, it is time to edit and deliver the thousands of photos taken in the last months, to work on some personal projects and to start thinking about the year that lies ahead. Can’t wait!

Raquel and Sérgio married this Saturday in Estremoz. It was a unique and memorable weekend in the company of their families and friends. A special thank you to Maria João from Design Events for her talent, good taste and for receiving me so well in her home.

]]> 2012 passou num abrir e fechar de olhos! A sério! Foi o ano mais rápido da minha vida. E aqui estou, no início de mais um ano. Quando olho para trás e vejo os caminhos que percorri, uns mais sinuosos que outros, o meu coração enche-se de orgulho e sei que não só cresci enquanto pessoa, mas principalmente como profissional. Sei o que quero fazer e para onde quero ir!

Apesar da minha ausência em 2011, abracei 2012 como se fosse nunca tivesse parado, e isso não seria possível sem os fantásticos clientes, clientes não, amigos que se cruzaram na minha vida e que confiaram em mim. Obrigado do fundo do coração pelo vosso apoio, amizade e por me permitirem entrar na vossa vida. Vocês são únicos!

E como forma de comemorar o novo ano, deixo-vos com algumas das melhores imagens de 2012 e que retratam a forma como vejo os casamentos, não apenas momentos de cumplicidade entre duas pessoas, mas também momentos únicos, que fazem parte desse dia tão especial e que merecem ser sempre fotografados. Na próxima semana, o Best Of será mais pessoal.

I blinked and 2012 was gone! Seriously! It was the fastest year of my life. And here I am at the beginning of another year. When I look back and see the paths I took, some more sinuous than others, my heart swells with pride and I know that not only I grew as a person, but mainly as a professional. I know what I want to do and where I want to go!

Despite my absence in 2011, I’ve embrace 2012 as if I never stopped, and that would not be possible without the fantastic clients, not clients, friends who have crossed my life and who trusted me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support, friendship and for allowing me to be in your life. You are awesome!

And as a way to celebrate the new year, I leave you with some of the best images from 2012 to give you a glance at how I see weddings, not just moments of complicity between two people, but also moments that are part of this very special day and deserve to be photographed. Next week, I’ll post a more personal Best Of.
